TraderBuddy
A real person reads this inbox. If your question isn't answered below, write to us and say what you were doing when it went wrong.
Discipline, not stock picks. It doesn't tell you what to trade and it never will. What it does is give you a path: a trader type worked out from how you actually trade, a personalised roadmap built for that type, and a daily routine where you commit a plan before the session and grade yourself against it afterwards. Then it keeps you honest on the way, with insights into the patterns behind your losses and a real person who can see whether you did what you said you would.
The questionnaire sorts you into one of eight types from how you think, not from what you trade — most of it asks about everyday things: how you wait, how you react to losing, whether you back down when experts disagree. It sets which roadmap you get and feeds into who you're matched with. It's a starting point, not a verdict.
From the plan you committed before the session and how honestly you graded it after. It measures whether you followed your own rules, not whether you made money. A losing day where you stuck to the plan scores well, and a winning day where you abandoned it does not.
A day counts once both halves are in: the plan before, the grade after. One without the other leaves the day unfinished. Sitting a day out on purpose, and saying so, banks it at full marks, because deliberately not trading is discipline too.
On your psychological profile, not on your card. Every type carries the same five measures — patience, discipline, risk appetite, analytical depth, independence — and a good match is close to you without being a copy: someone identical reinforces your leaks, someone unlike you can't relate to your session. Two other things count for as much as that fit: a partner at least as strict as you, and one who isn't carrying more risk than they can hold. You both have to accept before anything is shared.
Your display name and photo, whether you checked in, your streak, the goals you chose to share, and your discipline score day by day — not just the latest one, but the whole run of it for as long as you have been paired, charted next to theirs. They can't see your trades, your P&L, your journal or your notes.
Report them as inactive from the buddy screen. That opens a two-day window. If they show up, nothing happens. If they don't, you're freed to match with someone else. If you'd rather not wait, Settings, then Request a new buddy, ends it straight away.
Not from Settings. Your type sets your whole roadmap, and switching it would reset the progress you've made on it. If you're sure the questionnaire got you wrong, write to us and we'll sort it out with you.
Yes. Everything except your notification preferences lives on our servers against your account. Sign in on the new phone and it is all there.
Billing runs through the App Store, so canceling happens there rather than in the app. On your iPhone open Settings, tap your name at the top, then Subscriptions, and pick TraderBuddy. You keep everything until the period you have already paid for runs out.
Everything of yours goes, on every device, straight away: your card, your streak, your journal, your buddy history. It can't be undone and we can't get it back for you. Your buddy loses the conversation as well — the thread belongs to the pairing, and the pairing goes with you. Settings, then Delete my account, counts exactly what you'd lose before you confirm.
The fastest route is Settings, then Report a bug inside the app — it stamps your app version and device onto the message, which is usually what we need to reproduce it.
From here, email us instead and tell us three things: what you were trying to do, what happened, and what phone you are on. A screenshot helps more than a description.
